Special construction and rubberized trim help the handset stand up to everyday wear and  tear, accidental splashes, and even the occasional drop. We've included a 2.5mm headset jack and belt clip for hands-free operation. Twin-Band Transmission Twin-band  transmission extends the calling range of our 2.4 GHz GigaRange® Extreme SST (spread spectrum technology) cordless phones. Conventional phones transmit and  receive signals within the same band (or frequency) which can result in  interference between the signals. To combat this, our 2.4 GHz GigaRange® Extreme SST cordless phones operate on two different bands: 2.4 GHz on the base, and 900 MHz on the handset. This minimizes interference between signals, enhances  clarity and boosts range. You'll hear the difference in conversations with  excellent sound quality and virtually no echo. Our unique proprietary circuitry  design also helps these phones resist interference from other devices that share  similar bands, such as microwave ovens. SST  Technology 2.4 GHz GigaRange® Extreme SST cordless phones utilize spread spectrum technology (SST) in both the 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz bands. SST technology  brings two important benefits to the user: enhanced range and security. Our  phones with SST have greater output power than conventional cordless phones because they transmit over the entire bandwidth, constantly changing frequency.  Such increased power dramatically boosts calling range. Also, because Panasonic 2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme SST phones constantly change frequencies within their bands of operation, conversations are difficult to monitor and eavesdropping is  unlikely. All-Digital Answering System Select 2.4 GHz GigaRange® Extreme SST cordless phones are equipped with an advanced all-digital  answering system. With no tapes to reset or rewind, operation is virtually silent. Once callers reach the answering system, a voice prompt guides them  through the task of leaving a message. A total of 15 minutes worth of messages  can be recorded. Messages are automatically stamped with the date and time they  were received. All recorded messages are held in flash memory, so they'll  survive any power interruptions or failures. REMOTE ACCESS You can  easily access the digital answering system from remote locations. The toll-saver feature enables your phone to answer on the first ring if  there are any new messages to play back. If there are no new messages, the phone  will ring again, an indication that you can hang up to avoid toll charges. New message playback lets you listen to only the messages you haven't heard before. AT HOME A speaker on the base unit lets you hear incoming messages as they're being recorded, in order to screen your calls. Auto interrupt automatically interrupts recording when you pick up the handset. All recorded messages are held in flash memory, so they'll survive any power interruptions or failures. Caller ID Not only do our 2.4 GHz GigaRange® Extreme SST  cordless phones offer clear sound and long range, but select models also give  you all the details you want to know about incoming calls.* With call waiting caller ID compatibility, you can view the name and number of all incoming callers, even if you're already on the line. The caller ID memory feature stores up to 50 names, with direct callback capability. Thanks to caller ID pager call, you can even program the phone to notify your pager  when you've received an incoming call, and to forward caller ID data to your pager's display. * Subscription to caller ID services required. Additional Features 7 HOUR BATTERY CHARGING Our 2.4 GHz GigaRange® Extreme SST cordless phones come with a  special high capacity nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery, which has twice the storage of a standard nickel cadmium (NiCd) battery. NiMH batteries are ideal  for high-powered cordless phones, and they can be fully recharged in just 7 hours. Many other phones require your battery to charge at least overnight. LCD DISPLAY A backlit, multi-function LCD display on the handset displays 3 lines of caller ID information, which lets you see the entire Caller ID data for each call without scrolling. The backlit LCD display is also  easy to read in the dark. DIGITAL DUPLEX SPEAKERPHONE Our speakerphone function enables  multiple parties to take part in the same conversation, and gives single users  the benefit of hands-free operation. Digital circuitry helps reduce the echo and  dropout effects, which are common in conventional speakerphones. 2-WAY  PAGING AND AUTOMATIC INTERCOM Two-way paging lets you page the handset from  the base unit (and vice-versa), while automatic intercom lets you communicate  between them. Each location can be programmed  with up to 21 digits, which gives you plenty of room to add your favorite long  distance access codes. The convenient navigator key lets you easily access your phone directory, adjust handset and ringer volumes, or access your caller ID  memory for direct callback capability.
